Attorney Profile

Tallahassee Criminal Law Attorney

A criminal defense lawyer's education and skills count a great deal when you are doing an assessment of experience and qualifications while looking to hire an attorney. However, it is also important to ask before which courts an attorney has practiced. Familiarity with courts and their personnel including bailiffs, secretaries and reporters in a variety of venues can help a lawyer handle cases smoothly.

Mr. Taylor has tried well over 200 felony cases in his 29 years of practice. He has argued cases before federal appellate courts in the 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th and 11th Circuit Courts of Appeal; Mr. Taylor is approved by the State to handle death penalty trials and death row inmate appeals. Cases assigned to this attorney have often been refused by other qualified death penalty attorneys. Mr. Taylor's current practice is limited to criminal cases, and his clients have included Sheriffs(3), Deputy U.S. Marshals, the only sitting county judge in Leon County, FL to be charged with crimes, courtroom staff's relatives, and court reporters' kin. These specific clients, familiar with day to day court interaction with many criminal defense lawyers, chose Clyde M. Taylor, Jr. to defend them when they were facing criminal trials or investigations.
